Why was 2012 a year of turmoil for a lot of people?
Ok, so we were in a recession, but that can change depending
on what the politicians and the powers that be feel like telling us. I’m not dismissing it; it
was tough and still is for so many…I’ve got plenty to say on the subject but I’ll
leave that for a day when I feel like having a rant!
We had the overwhelming feeling of being trapped in something for so long that our
minds could have exploded at any given moment.
That’s what it seemed like anyway, but why? What was it that made so many
people think that they had to make some radicle and to others some
'out of character' changes in their lives?
I’ve always liked the saying ‘The penny has dropped’, and when the penny
drops there is a revelation that appears to you like a rainbow after the storm.
It was a hard thing to admit which is why many thought they
were losing their marbles when in actual fact they had lost themselves and didn’t
like who stared back at them in the mirror.
There was a deep sense of unhappiness caused by so many factors, some created by other people. You see, we all
came to the conclusion (finally) that we allowed it to happen. Imagine not being in control
of your feelings, thoughts and movements?
You try; everyone does because you are scared of losing
something that’s familiar. But familiarity can breed contempt the danger is
that you feel contempt for yourself and no longer like YOU. So, you bite the bullet, another saying that I
like and decide to walk. Yes, you took
your first steps as a baby and now you have to learn to do it all again as
adult. But what you didn’t know as a
baby is what or who was bad for you. A
wise friend told me not so long ago that if you surround yourself with trash you will end up
smelling like it! I don’t know about you
but my wheelie bin was in desperate need of emptying!
The clean-up
operation:
Be the decision maker of your own life, do what feels good.
Be optimistic, let go and let flow.
Be strong, if you wobble and feel like looking back,
remember the trash!
Be excited it’s nice.
Be brave, have an adventure you’ll never forget.
Be thankful, at this point you will know what for.
Be happy you DO deserve it.
Be extremely happy, yes you are.
Be YOU!
MIND TRAVEL
By Michelle Sotiriou
Listen to her for she
is the keeper
The key to the garden
she holds
Green pastures
dignified blooms
Blast of bright
colours no hues.
Summer haze as you
enter
Honey suckle aroma
Whisks you away to a
land of no drama
Heaven on earth
images to behold
Beauty and peace
rests in a mind that’s cold
Thoughts become
warmer
Like the first day of
spring
Eager to rise and
begin
The winter within you
is too long to bare
Imagine spring season
You will get yourself
there.
